Historic Salem Church hosts Christmas concert

The historic Salem Church hosted a holiday concert last Tuesday, Dec. 20, featuring nationally-known pianist Mary Beth Carlson, other Twin Cities artists, and the PAHS Mixed Choir.

Pianist Mary Beth Carlson and Nikki Allen Nikki Allen of the University of Minnesota was the vocal soloist and pianist Mary beth Carlson entertain the audience at Salem.

The concert, to a packed church, featured Christmas carols, including well-known songs like "Go Tell It On the Mountain" and less familiar ones such as "Mary Did You Know," as well as secular songs such as "White Christmas" and "God Bless America."

Salem Christmas Tree The Christmas tree at Salem was 25 feet tall and covered with colored lights and silver tinsel.
