Bank donates building to New Munich

Community First National Bank plans to donate its former building in New Munich to the city of New Munich, announced Mark Malignen, president of Commun-ity First National Bank of Paynesville.

"Community First has had an integral part in the history of New Munich," said Malingen. "Our donation of the building is our way of giving something back to the community for its support throughout the years. City officials will make a decision on how the building will be best used to benefit the community."

Mayor Harold Klaphake is appreciative of the building donation and the city is exploring options for its future use. The bank branch closed ealier this summer and the building has been sitting empty.
