Representing the sixth grade are Matt Mehr and Kim Hess; seventh grade, Brittany Caldwell and Andrew Ainsley; eighth grade, Jessica Andrie and Justin Reeck.
The sixth grade teachers state Kim Hess is a little spitfire, always has a smile and an eagerness to do well. She usually comes to class prepared to learn. Hess is a very enthusiastic individual. Kim is the daughter of Dave and Barb Hess, Lake Henry. She lists as her interests playing basketball and Sony playstation. Hess sings in the sixth grade choir, plays basketball and is a member of the student council. When asked about her feelings on being chosen as Student of the Month, Kim replied, “Just fine.”
Matt Mehr is the son of Ralph and Ann Mehr, rural Paynesville. His teachers state Matt is a quiet, reserved student. He is not afraid to raise his hand and ask questions, participate in class, or seek help when needed. He usually tries his hardest to do as well as he can. Matt is a very polite individual. Matt lists as his interests choir, band, speech, and playing basketball. When asked about his feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Matt replied, “Good, I’m very excited to be randomly selected.”
Brittany Caldwell is the daughter of Troy and Brenda Caldwell, rural Hawick. Her teachers state Brittany is a very good listener in class, seems to take academics seriously and is a quality worker. Brittany lists as her hobbies listening to music, babysitting and playing the piano. She is a member of the seventh and eighth grade choir and band, speech team, and Girl Scouts. When asked about her feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Brittany replied, “Okay.”
Andrew Ainsley is the son of Keith and Beaty Ainsley, Paynesville. His teachers state Andrew is outgoing, a positive student, performs very well in class, and applies himself in class. Andrew lists as his interests basketball, football, Nintendo 64, and Sony playstation. He is a member of the seventh grade football and basketball team, and sings in the choir. When asked about his feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Andrew replied, “I think that it is very cool to be the Student of the Month.”
Jessica Andrie is the daughter of Jim and DuDonne Andrie, rural Paynesville. Her teachers state as a new student, Jessica has adjusted quite well. A very intelligent and hardworking student, she has a great work ethic. Jessica is a definite positive addition to the eighth grade. Jessica lists as her interests playing the piano and with her puppy. She has participated in the Knowledge Bowl and enjoys playing softball. When asked about her feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Jessica replied, “I think it’s an honor to be Student of the Month, thanks!”
Justin Reeck is the son of Gary and Lou Reeck, rural Paynesville. His teachers state Justin is a very bright student, a critical thinker, asks very intelligent questions in class and seems to really enjoy school. Justin lists as his interests football, wrestling, track, and 4-H. When asked about his feelings on being chosen Student of the Month, Justin replied, “I’m very excited.”
