Students of the Month for December named at PAMS

Sixth grader Riley Kampsen, seventh grader Callie Bennett, and eighth grader Keegan Meagher were chosen as Students of the Month for December at Paynesville Area Middle School.

Each month, teachers recognize three students in the middle school - one per grade - for their attention and work in school and their cooperation and relations with other students and the school staff.

Kampsen said he was shocked to win the award, Bennett said she was proud to get it, and Meagher said it was cool to be the Student of the Month. Their reasons for winning the award were working hard accoring to Kampsen, having a good attitude according to Bennett, and doing better than ever before at school according to Meagher.

Students of the month of Dec. Kampsen, the son of Kathy and Mike Kampsen, plays football and baseball and also wrestles. At home he likes to play sports and games, watch TV, and be outside.

His teachers say that Riley is a willing helper, that he has a positive attitude and a great sense of humor, and that his participation adds sparkle to his classes.

Bennett, the daughter of Deb and Mike Bennett, sings in the choir, plays in the band, competes in speech, and plays softball at school. Her hobbies include computers, singing, pets, having bonfires, and being with friends.

Her teachers describe Callie as considerate, friendly, hard working, responsible, and dependable.

Meagher, the son of Lorie and Pat Meagher, wrestles, plays baseball and football, and plays in the band at school. His hobbies include biking, golfing, skateboarding, skating, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling.

His teachers say that Keegan has a good attitude towards school, that he works hard and applies himself to his school work, and is doing well in his classes.

Sixth grader Jordan Severance, seventh grader Heather Rondeau, and eighth grader Colby Peterson were chosen as Students of the Month in October at PAMS, and sixth grader Kayla Lieser, seventh grader Jamison Wall, and eighth grader Natalie Leadem were chosen in November.
