Washburne Court residents craft ornaments

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

washburneResidents of Washburne Court filled their Christmas tree with handmade ornaments this year. From August through December this year, residents worked with employee Sue Brick to create the one-of-a-kind ornaments.

Residents who worked on the ornaments are: (from left) Edna Liebenow, Betty Honeywell, Math Lang, Arlene Winkels, Lucille Hummel, Edith Thomsen, Verda Delgehausen, Cornelia Fredrick, and Grace Schroeder

The handmade Christmas ornaments were crafted using painted wood, paper, wooden clothespins, fabric and yarn, beads, and plastic canvas, with residents contributing their talent and their imaginations.

Brick hopes that making Christmas ornaments will become a new Christmas tradition at Washburne Court.
