Van and snowplow collide

On Monday, Dec. 6, at 8:50 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a head-on collision between a MnDOT snowplow and a full-size van a couple miles west of Payensville on Highway 55.

The MnDOT snowplow, driven by Ken Ramthun of Paynesville, was eastbound, and a 1995 GMC van, driven by James Sable of Minneapolis, was westbound.

Ramthun was treated and released. As of Tuesday morning, Sable was in serious condition at the St. Cloud Hospital.
