City council approves
Sunday liquor license

The Paynesville City Council took the following action at a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

•The council approved a Sunday liquor license for Queen Bee's Bar and Grill, owned by Doris and Tom Wendlandt in downtown Paynesville. Voters in the city approved allowing on-sale liquor sales on Sunday by a vote of 530-456 at the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The council had previously approved a Sunday liquor ordinance allowing hours on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. and charging a $200 Sunday liquor license fee. The ordinance was published on Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the Press and has taken effect.
