Another new development
started in city of Paynesville

By Michael Jacobson

Work started this fall on another new development in the city of Paynesville. Heatherwood Plat 3, orginally platted in Paynesville Township, was annexed to the city and developed this fall.

The 20.38-acre parcel sits within the city's wellhead protection area, prompting its annexation to the city to protect against possible contamination to the city wells.

Map Property owners Keith and Mary Dombrovski, Jim and Mary Meyer, and Chris and Krista Dombrovski agreed to annex the development to the city in order to have city sewer and water, instead of additional drainfields and wells in the wellhead protection area.

Bordering Highway 23 on the north and the Heatherwood Addition in Paynesville Township on the south, the addition includes 31 residential lots and two outlots. An extension of South Street will provide access to the new development from the west with two new cul-de-sacs (Kira Court to the north and Kira Lane to the south) running through the development.

Kira Lane was proposed to be a through-street last spring but was changed to a cul-de-sac due to concerns by residents in the neighboring Heatherwood Addition.

The underground utility work for Heatherwood Plat 3 was constructed this fall, though the new streets will be finalized next spring.

Heatherwood Plat 3 is the second addition on the east side of Paynesville this year, joining Ampe Morningside Addition Fifth Plat, which added 18 lots to the city.

Since 2000, with four stages of the Ampe Morningside Additions and now with Heatherwood Plat 3, nearly 75 residential lots have been added to the east side of Paynesville.
