Students of the Month named at PAMS

Students of the Month have been named for October and November at Paynesville Area Middle School.

Teachers recognize three students - one per grade per month - in the middle school for their attention and work in school and their cooperation and relations with other students and the school staff.

Honored for October are sixth grader Connor Hacklander, seventh grader Megan Wuertz, and eighth grader Krista Topp.

Honored for November are sixth grader Megan Schmidt, seventh grader Dylan Sheridan, and eighth grader Eric Wolbeck.

October Students of the Month
Hacklander, the son of Kyle and Theresa Hacklander, said he was surprised to receive the award, which he thinks he won because he is polite. He participates in speech and in plays at school and also likes to play chess.

His teacher said that Connor is always respectful of others and that he knows why he's at schoolŠto learn. The teacher also complimented his parents for raising such a fine young man.

Wuertz, the daughter of Bill and Lynn Wuertz, competes in volleyball, gymnastics, and softball in school and also likes to snowmobile, four-wheel, and dirtbike. She said she thinks she won the award because she tries hard in school.

Her teacher said that Megan is a good student, helpful and friendly.

Topp, the daughter of Bonnie and Dan Topp, plays basketball and runs track in school. Away from school, she likes to hang out with friends, watch scary movies, talk on the Internet, and ride four-wheeler. She said she was honored and excited to receive the award, which she thinks she got because she works hard and pays attention.

Her teacher said that Krista is a quiet, hard-working student who is always willing to lend a hand and is responsible.

November Students of the Month
Schmidt, the daughter of Allen and Lori Schmidt, said she was very proud to receive the award, which she thinks she got because she got really good grades. Her hobbies are collecting rocks and American Sign Language (ASL).

Her teacher said that Megan is a great student, who is hardworking, thoughtful, and cooperative.

Sheridan, the son of Sheila Paul Shepherd, said he was excited to receive the award, which he thinks he got because he behaved some and got good grades. He participates in wrestling and football at school and likes to visit people as a hobby.

His teacher said that Dylan is a good student with lots of energy who is friendly and involved with lots of kids/groups.

Wolbeck, the son of Debra and Gerald Wolbeck, said it was awesome to get this award, which he thinks he received because he tries hard at school. He also wrestles, plays baseball, and belongs to the student council at school. As hobbies, he likes to fish and hunt.

His teacher said that Eric is a good student and hard worker who is cooperative and friendly.
