Mark Nepsund Koronis Tire, Paynesville, has expanded its service to area residents. A new transmission shop opened Nov. 1.

"We looked at the services offered in the area and saw the need for a local transmission shop," Dan Binsfeld, owner of Koronis Tire, said. "We currently specialize in tire alignment and brakes and decided to add transmissions. With the farming economy the way it is, a business needs to diversify," he added.

"I hired Mark Nepsund (pictured at right), a native of Paynesville, who has 19 years experience to manage the transmission shop," Binsfeld said. "I feel fortunate to find somebody who has experience and knows the area."

Nepsund attended Willmar Vocational Technical College. He has worked in Glenwood and, for the last 19 years in Brooten.

"I have training in diesel engines and automatic transmissions," Nepsund said. "We will specialize in automatic transmissions, but will take on standard transmission vehicles as well."

The new shop features two rotary lifts and computer timing equipment. The transmission shop will be open 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
