D&D Hospitality, the local owners of the motel, which is located on Highway 23 on the west end of town, opted to drop the franchise and do business independently, said manager Becky Schwandt. The motel made the move due to ongoing changes in the franchise, Schwandt added.

According to Schwandt, the only thing that changed was the name. The managament team and staff are the same, and Paynesville Inn and Suites will still offer the same friendly service it has since opening its doors in 1997.

Paynesville Inn and Suites employs 10 full-time and 10 part-time employees.
