Paynesville native killed in car crash

Holli (Whitcomb) Rudningen, 26, of Sunburg, a 1995 graduate of Paynesville Area High School, was killed last Thursday in a two-car accident at the intersection of Highway 104 and County Road 29, between Sunburg and Willmar.

Rudningen, a passenger, and Troy Oslund, 27, died from the accident. Rudningen's husband, Eric, who was driving their car, was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital. Their daughter, Mallory, escaped injury.

The accident was reported to police at 6:48 a.m.

Rudningen, the daughter of Steve and Karen Whitcomb of Paynesville, was also expecting another child. She was a long-time member of the Little Crow Water Ski Team, she formerly worked for the New London-Spicer School District, and was currently a full-time mother.
