Township to move beaver from culvert

By Michael Jacobson

The Paynesville Township Board of Supervisors took the following actions at their meeting on Monday, Oct. 25.

*The board approved an easement for Gary Swenson to locate a holding tank five feet into the road right-of-way on Old Lake Road.

*The board voted to remove a beaver that is starting to block the culvert leading into the west end of Lake Koronis.

*The board granted a variance to Faye Weatherwax to construct an unattached building within 55 feet of the center of Crosswood Road.

*The board set a variance hearing for an after-the-fact site permit for Gil Boetcher on Brookhaven Road for 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15. The township ordinance requires a 30-foot setback, and Boetcher needs an 18-foot variance.

*The board set a public hearing for 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, to consider the vacation of a platted road at the north end of 300th Avenue on property owned by the Lake Koronis Assembly Grounds.

*The board instructed clerk Don Wiese to check into the legality of an increase in the snowplowing contract. Following a request from D & D Snow Plowing, the board is considering adding $2 to the per hour payment rate of $62 that was contracted for the 2004-05 snow season as a fuel surcharge.
