Students of the Month named for October at PAMS

Students of the Month were named last week at Paynesville Area Middle School for the month of October. Selected by their teachers for their hard work and positive attitudes were sixth grader Zach Fuchs, seventh grader Kassie Sheridan, and eighth grader Kate Olson.

The first winners of the 2002-03 school year all were surprised to be chosen for the award, with Fuchs adding that it was a nice honor.

Fuchs, the son of Steve and Cindy Fuchs, enjoys golf and football. He thinks he was chosen because he does well in school and is a nice kid.

His teachers state that he is cheerful, has a good attitude, treats teachers and students with courtesy and respect, and has the ability and maturity to know when to be studious and when to have a good time.

Sheridan, the daughter of Sheila Shepherd and Mark Sheridan, plays on the volleyball team and thinks she earned the award because she works hard.

Her teachers say that she is a hard worker who puts a great effort toward her studies, that she has a good attitude, and that she is polite and friendly.

Olson, the daughter of Sharon and Gary Olson, plays basketball and volleyball. She thinks she got the award for trying hard.

Her teachers think that she is a hard-working individual, is responsible and respectful, is friendly, and has a good attitude.
