City curbside leaf pickup on Saturday

By Michael Jacobson

The city of Paynesville will have its annual curbside leaf pick-up on Saturday, Oct. 22. Residents should have their leaves bagged and on the curb by 8 a.m. Leaves will be picked up by West Central Sanitation.

Again this year, city residents are prohibited from burning their leaves. Instead, they will either need to use this leaf pick-up or bring their leaves to the city's compost site, located on Co. Rd. 33 east of town between the city sewer ponds and Highway 23. The compost site is open on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to dusk until Wednesday, Oct. 26, and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in October.
