Meagher receives promotion

Sean Meagher of Paynesville was promoted to lieutenant in the Minnesota State Patrol last week. Meagher received his new rank from Col. Anne Beers, the chief of the state patrol, at a ceremony in St. Paul.

Sean Meagher Meagher, a 1987 PHS graduate, attended St. Cloud State University and earned a degree in computer information systems. He joined the Minnesota State Patrol in 1997. Most recently, Meagher patrolled in the St. Cloud district for the state patrol.

As a lieutenant, Meagher will have a supervisory role in charge of the state patrol stations in Litchfield, Willmar, and Morris. He will still patrol area roads when time and staffing allows.

"I'd like to thank Col. Beers for giving me this opportunity," said Meagher. "I look forward to the challenge."

Meagher and his wife Angela live in Paynesville Township with their two kids (Meg, 4, and Kate, 10 months). He enjoys riding ATVs and spending as much time as possible with his family.
