Second ATV riding trail turned down

Despite all-terrain vehicle riding club members' promises to supervise the trail and promote responsible riding, the ATV trail which was proposed for a site east of New London, was turned down by the Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners.

The Kandiyohi County Planning Commission made a recommendation for a land use permit, but property owners in attendance at the Sept. 16 meeting made it clear they didn't want it, and it was defeated.

The proposed trail would have stretched across 120 acres of private land east of New London, and would have been managed by the Prairie Riders ATV Club, which also operates a riding site at a gravel pit near Hawick.
