Grand opening scheduled for oil depot
A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for the new Paynesville Area Oil Depot for Monday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. City, county, and township officials are scheduled to attend. The new facility Ð which is already open to the public Ð offers a spot to recycle used oil, used oil filters (for a 50¢ contribution), and used antifreeze (for a $1 per gallon contribution).
The 24-hour, self-serve facility was built with SCORE Funds, and Paynesville Township and the city of Paynesville have agreed to split maintenance costs. It is located on the west side of the township maintenance garage on Koronis Drive and across from the Koronis Civic Arena and the Paynesville Township Hall.
