Local 4-Hers do well at county fairs

4-H winners Area county fairs are done and Paynesville area 4-Hers are starting to think about exhibiting at the Minnesota State Fair.

Megan Reeck and Brittney Spanier will not be able to exhibit at the State Fair as they are too young. However, Reeck will be exhibiting in the lamb lead category in the open class division instead.

Members of the Koronis Eager Beavers earning top honors at the Meeker County Fair were: Amy Roberg, class champion dairy steer; Kathy Schrupp, reserve champion market chickens; Tim Schrupp, class champion, electric, and junior and senior champion Guernsey; Angie Wunsch, first in food preservation; and Tricia Wendlandt, reserve champion in food preservation.

Christie Eull: grand champion, cat education; reserve champion, child development; blue on home environment and pet project (dog);

Amanda Reeck: reserve champion lamb lead; blues on ewe lamb, yearling ewe, self-determine project, foods, and photography; honorable mention, flower gardening, and participation ribbon in creative arts;

Justin Reeck: reserve champion, yearling ewe; champion, sheep junior showmanship; reserve champion, swine junior showman; blue, barrow, and gilt;

Megan Reeck: champion, overall ewe and lamb lead; reserve champion, swine poster and sheep junior showmanship; champion, flower gardening poster and clothing; blues, photography, self- determine (family history), gilt and barrow; honorable mention, consumer education; participation, creative arts;

Justin Spanier: red, horse;

Trevor Spanier: red, horse; partici-pation, creative arts;

Brittney Spanier: champion, horse; blues, photography, vegetable gardening; red, foods; participation, creative arts; and honorable mention, indoor gardening; and

Jon Schefers: reserve champion, senior yearling Brown Swiss; blues, junior two-year-old Holstein, spring junior yearling Holstein, and Brown Swiss baby calf.
