Festival to be held on Saturday

For the third year, Crystal Hills Assembly will hold its Fun in the SonFest on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The community outreach effort by the church will be held at the Gazebo Park in Paynesville from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival will feature food and beverages, a dunking booth (with part of the proceeds going to the D.A.R.E. program at Paynesville Area Elementary School), children's games, drawings for door prizes, and a petting zoo with over 100 exotic animals.

Highlights of the day include a concert by the Martinson family at 11 a.m., and the annual community talent contest at 1 p.m. Prizes are $75 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third. To enter, contact Kami Gleitz at 320-243-3513.

Attendees and spectators should bring their own lawn chair or blanket for seating.

The city's Gazebo Park is located on Washburne Avenue roughly halfway between downtown Paynesville and the Paynesville Area Health Care System.
