Ethnic festival to be held this weekend

Paynesville's third annual Festival of Ethnic Traditions will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3, starting at 12:30 p.m., at the athletic practice fields at Paynesville Area High School. The practice fields are located between the student parking lot at the high school and the armory.

The festival - organized by the Paynesville Human Rights Commission - will have exotic animals, African cultural arts, and ethnic entertainment and food. Cultural entertainment includes Native American, African, Aztec, Irish, and German/Swiss groups. Free ethnic food samples will be sponsored by the Paynesville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Some seating will be available. Attendees can bring their own lawn chair or blanket to use on the grass.
