Pelkey buys, renames business

By Michael Jacobson

Greg Pelkey has purchased Regal Refrigeration from his father Mike, effective May 1, and renamed the business Pelkey Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning.

Greg Pelkey, a 1986 PHS grad, has worked with his dad part time since high school. He worked in carpentry for several years after high school and has worked with his father full time since May 1994.

pelkey Mike started working with refrigerated trucks in 1975 and purchased Regal Refrigeration in 1990 from Jack Kotten, who had started Regal Refrigeration in 1983. Mike said it was time for him to slow down a little and that he now plans to work only 40 hours per week.

Pelkey Refrigeration will continue to do installation and service of refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning for both commercial business and residential homes, said Greg. Their customer base stretches from Buffalo to Willmar to Alexandria.

Good service is important to them, said Greg, and their goal is to keep their customers satisfied with same day or next day service. They also offer 24-hour on-call service for emergencies.

They will continue to have offices in Paynesville Township, where Mike lives, and Eden Lake Township, where Greg lives. Their new tollfree number is 1-888-798-0694.

Mike said he is going to try and enjoy life a little more by working a little less. He and his wife Janet like to fish, camp, and use their motorhome.

Greg and his wife Angie have two kids and enjoy their horses, camping, and fishing.
