Bloodmobile coming on Thursday, July 10

By Michael Jacobson

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be coming to Paynesville for its annual summer drive on Thursday, July 10, from 1 to 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Red Cross sent letters to donors this week because of the great need for blood. Some of these letters erroneously contained the wrong date and place for the blood drive. The drive will be held on Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church from 1 to 7 p.m.

To be eligible to donate, donors must be 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. The Red Cross is now accepting former cancer patients whose cancer is in remission and who have not had chemotherapy for five years. These donors need to document their medical history with the Red Cross before the drive. This can be done by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-426-2164.

Appointments can be made by calling organizer Mike Jacobson during normal business hours at 230-243-3772.
