Hospital Board receives commitments from two doctors joining the health care system

The Paynesville Area Hospital District Board of Directors took the following actions at their meeting on Wednesday, June 29.

*The board was informed that it has a written letter of intent from Dr. George Morris and a verbal commitment from Dr. Ilaben Patel to join the health care system. Morris is expected to practice at the new Cold Spring Clinic, and Patel will practice mainly in Richmond. They are expected to start by mid-August to mid-September.

*The board approved its May financial statements, showing a profit of $18,313 for the month, bringing the districtıs profit for eight months this year to $532,886.

*The board approved the appointments of Peter Tillotson, M.D., (radiology) and Jody Bolton Smith, M.D., (radiology) to the active consulting staff and Kevin Wohletz, CRNA, to the active ancillary staff. All three completed their provisional period.

*The board also approved additional privileges for John Matsura, M.D., to do durasphere periurethral injections.
