By Kayla Welle

The Paynesville Area Fitness Center recently opened a 20' by 40' cardiovascular studio just down the hall from the fitness center at Paynesville Area High School.

Fitness center cardio equipment According to Community Education director Matt Dickhausen, there was a need for the cardio studio due to the increase in memberships and usage at the fitness center. The fitness center was beginning to get crowded, he said, and the cardio studio alleviated the overcrowding of the main fitness area.

Sally Heitke of Paynesville exercised recently in the new cardio studio at the Paynesville Area Fitness Center, attached to the high school.

Without more room, there was no room for additional pieces of exercise equipment in the fitness center.

A storeroom down the hall from the fitness center was remodeled into the new cardio studio. In addition to new west-facing windows, the cardio studio features three 32-inch televisions and treadmills, stairclimbers, ellipticals, and a heavy bag for aerobic workouts.

The fitness center continually updates its equipment and facilities to best meet the needs of its members, Dickhausen said.
