Stang named executive VP

Troy Stang, a 1990 PHS grad, joined Executive Compensations Solutions, an executive benefits design firm, in January as an executive vice president and principal.

Most recently, Stang had served as the Director of Public and Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the George. W. Bush administration. He was responsible for all public and legislative efforts related to domestic finance and economic development. He also oversaw all communications and outreach to the business and financial services industry.

He also held senior positions in both urban- and rural-based credit unions, including in the Paynesville office of the Central Minnesota Federal Credit Union. And he was vice president of the Texas Credit Union League and served as chief of staff to the chairman of the Credit Union National Association.

"The experience that Troy Stang brings to Executive Compensation Solutions will be a huge advantage to us as he helps to lead our growth as a premier consulting and advisory firm to credit unions," said Alec Berkman, CEO of Executive Compensation Solutions, which was founded in 1970.

A native of Paynesville, Stang holds a master's degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica; a bachelor's degree in organizational management and communication from Concordia University (St. Paul); and an associate degree in credit and finance from St. Cloud Technical College.

"Recruiting, retaining, and rewarding stellar leadership in the credit union movement is key to maintaining its unique competitiveness in the financial services marketplace," said Stang, who makes his home and office in Dallas, Tex. "I am very pleased to be a part of Executive Compensations Solutions, and I look forward to coming home to the credit union movement after my time in Washington, D.C."
