Pedal power needed in tractor pull

More than 85 youngsters ranging in age from four to 11 years old competed in the Pedal Tractor Pull during games night on Tuesday.

The tractor pull, sponsored by the Paynesville Jaycees, was a sanctioned pull and the top two winners in each age division advance to the state pedal tractor pull on Sept. 12 in Hutchinson.

Winning the four-year-old division were: Jason Soine, Hawick, with a pull of 17’7.5”; second place went to Eric Soderberg, Paynesville, with a pull of 12’1.5”; and third place was Ben Youngs, Paynesville, with a pull of 12’.

Five-year-olds: Kimberly Miller, Litchfield, pulled through; Tanner Wendroth, Paynesville, 44’1.5”; and Trevor Fleischhacker, Freeport, 43’9”.

Six-year-olds: Bryce Johnson, Litchfield, pulled through; Jesse Caldwell, Hawick, 47’6”; and Eric Wolbeck, Hawick, 45’1.5”.

Seven-year-olds: Wesley Sommer-field, Eden Valley, 44’6”; Jon Pflueger, Paynesville, 43’44.5”; and Ryan Peterson, Paynesville, 40’7.5”.

Eight-year-olds: Zachary Johnson, Litchfield, 37’6”; Rachel Altendahl, Paynesville, 35’6”; and Jeremy Schmitt, Paynesville, 34’3”.

Nine-year-olds: Jessica Schwartz, Roscoe, pulled through; Tucker Osterberg, Cokato, 38’3”; and William Fouler, Pan Handle, Texas, 37’4.5”.

10-year-olds: Josh Tebben, Hawick, 40’10.5”; Derek Looman, Paynesville, 40’3”; and Judy Willenbring, Paynesville, 39’3”.

11-year-olds: Eric Adams, Grove City, pulled through; Kirstin Stanger, St. Cloud, 44’; and Michael Mueller, Paynesville, 43’10.5”.
