Despite rain, people enjoyed Lake Henry Hay Raze

Pit crew The weather was wet and on the cool side Saturday for the fourth annual Lake Henry Hay Raze.

The morning started off with the little league tournament. Parents donned their raincoats and umbrellas to watch their young athletes. Winning the tournament was Regal. Other teams competing were Spring Hill, St. Martin, and Lake Henry.

About 20 entries took part in the Kiddie Parade which started at the baseball field and headed down Janette Court to the Lions Park. Virgil and Jane Lenzmeier, Lake Henry, were the parade grand marshals.

Kiddie Parade winners were:
First place: the troops headed off to Kosovo
Second place: youngsters dressed in red, white, and blue;
Third place: the Candyland float.

Volleyball players competed all day in the tournament. Winners were:
First place: Josh Flanders team.
Second place: Wooden Nickel team
Third place: Ron Knudsvig team

Hayroll The Hay Raze Olympics included 10 events. Among the events were a free throw shot, obstacle course, suitcase race, bat spin, round bale roll, bale toss, and toilet race. Winners were:
First place: Hired Goons, Amy Weidner, team captain.
Second place: Sportsman's Den, Diane Welle, team captain.
Third place: The Reverends, Keith Lieser, team captain.
