Town and Country Days are June 14 -19

"Fun in the Sun" is the theme for Town and Country Days, June 14 to 19.

Friday, June 14

  • First round of three-team round robin baseball tournament: New London-Spicer vs Roscoe at 6:15 p.m.

    Saturday, June 15

  • 10K run and two-mile fun run, 7:30 a.m. registration , at Veteran's Park on Lake Koronis; race starts at 9 a.m. at Regional Park. Runners will go from the Regional park with the finish line at Veteran's Park. For more information or to register call Jay Thompson, 320-243-3887;
  • Tennis tournament, 9 a.m. at high school tennis courts; Anyone inerested in competing should contact Lee Landsteiner, 320-243-3781.
  • Noon Peepers Family Picnic, 1 to 3 p.m. live entertainment with Betty Wolf and the Deutschmeisters, 3 p.m. grand prize drawing..fishing rod and reel.;
  • Noon baseball tournament...losers of first two games play with the championship following.

    Sunday, June 16
    Father's Day...spend the day with dad.

    Monday, June 17

  • Miss Paynesville Queen pageant, 8 p.m. in the elementary school auditorium. Nine girls are competing for title of Miss Paynesville plus the Little Miss Dairy Queen and Dennis the Menece look a-like contest.

    Tuesday, June 18

  • 10 a.m., Pet Show at the Good Samaritan Care Cente. Pet owners are requested to have all dogs on a leash and carriers available for smaller pets.
  • 1 p.m., Merriam Midway rides open;
  • 2:30 p.m. lineup with 3 p.m. Kiddie Parade, Good Samaritan Care Center.
  • Rebekah Lodge pie sale starting at 11 a.m., near the corner of Washburne and James Street;
  • The Lions hamburger stand, all day between Community First National Bank and post office;
  • After-Prom Malt Stand at Corner Floral from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.;

    Wednesday, June 19

  • The Lions hamburger stand, all day;
  • After-Prom Malt Stand at Corner Floral from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.;
  • 1 p.m., Merriam Midway rides open;
  • 7 p.m. Grand parade, lineup in the Industrial Park. Seven marching bands competing: Paynesville Marching Band, Albany Marching Cavaliers, Sartell Sabre Marching Band, Bertha-Hewitt Marching Band, Willmar Marching Cardinals, Eden Valley-Watkins Marching Eagles and the Osakis Marching Band. Awards ceremony in the Gazebo Park following parade.
