Spankee's Auto Sales opens

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

Spankee's Car Sales is open for business along Highway 23 in Paynesville. Owner David Krinkie sells used cars and does auto detailing.

David Krinkie, Spankee owner Krinkie, who recently moved to Paynesville from western Wisconsin, is excited about his new business. He doesn't want to sell a lot of cars, just the best quality cars. "I want to know I've done everything possible to sell a quality vehicle," he said.

Before selling a car, Krinkie will inspect it and make any changes necessary to ensure the car is mechanically sound, he said. Each vehicle he sells also will be detailed inside and out.

Detailing is a service Krinkie will also offer to his customers. Detailing - from the interior to the engine - is an important part of extending the life of a vehicle and helps keep resale values high, Krinkie said.

Krinkie retired as the owner of a heating and air conditioning business and is starting his second career with his new business venture.

Krinkie is married to Diane "Spankee" Krinkie, for whom the business is named. The couple has two grown children and five grandchildren.

Krinkie likes living and doing business in Paynesville because the people here are friendly, low key, and move at a slower pace than people in the metro area, which suits him just fine.
