Mayer isn't a new face at the Press, however. While in high school, she wrote PAHS sports stories for the Press, and she also helped the Press with its digital archiving project last summer.

Mayer just finished her first year at St. Cloud State University, where she is an elementary education major. Working at the Paynesville Press will help her gain valuable skills - especially writing and people skills - she will be able to apply to her education and to her career, she said.

Interviewing is Mayer's favorite part of the job because she enjoys meeting new people. She also enjoys taking pictures. She especially likes that her new job varies from day to day. When Mayer isn't working, she likes to run, to go to the lake with her family, and to hang out with friends.
