119 PHS seniors to graduate Friday night

The Class of 1997 will walk through the halls of Paynesville Area High School on Friday, June 6, for the last time as students. At 8 p.m., the commencement program for the 119 students will take place in the high school auditorium as friends and relatives watch with anticipation and joy.

Presenting the main address will be Erin Zimmerman. Josh Mueller will present the farewell address on behalf of the senior class.

The band will perform “Pomp and Circumstance,” “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” and “Water Music Suite,” under the direction of Bryan Mara.

The PHS pops choir will perform “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” under the direction of Cheryl Bungum. The mixed choir will perform “Letting Go.”

The class colors are green and white. The class motto is Sumus Quod Sumus...We Are What We Are. The class flower is the purple tiger lily. The class song is “For What It’s Worth,” by Buffalo Springfield.
