The Paynesville Area Jaycees are once again seeking help to cover the expenses of the fireworks. The Jaycees need to raise about $6,000 to help finance the fireworks.

The fireworks will be held at dusk on Saturday, July 6, this year.

Area organizations, clubs, and businesses are encouraged to help sponsor the fireworks. Pails for donations are located in area businesses.

Due to changing government regulations, it is now illegal to have a fireworks display without a certified pyrotechnician. About 50 communities will not be able to have their own fireworks because of the new ruling, Bob Brauchler, Paynesville, said. Brauchler has completed the necessary training and has been licensed.
