PHS graduation to be Thursday, June 4

Members of the graduating class at the Paynesville Area High School will be completing one phase of their lives and stepping into the next level, be it a career or continuing their education.

One hundred and eightteen seniors will be taking part in the commencement ceremony Thursday, June 4, at 8 p.m. in the high school gym.

Presenting the senior address will be Jennifer Lindquist and Lindsey Moser. The faculty response will be presented by Gary Haglund, high school science teacher.

The senior band will perform “Symphonic Suite” from Far and Away, “Pomp and Circumstance” and “Water Music Suite.”

The high school mixed choir will perform “One Voice, One Song.” The pops choir will sing “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”

The PHS Class of 1998 has 56 honor students: 11 students who are Summa Cum Laude (3.8 or better grade point average); 15 Magna Cum Laude (3.5 to 3.8 gpa) and 30 Cum Laude (3.0 gpa).

The senior class colors are green and white; class flower, neon poms; class song, “Here I Go Again;” and class motto, “A Posse Ad Esse...From Possibility to Reality.”
