New director at Area Center

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

Inez Jones Inez Jones will be taking over the duties of director of the Paynesville Area Center.

Jones, who is originally from Freeport, is a long-time area resident. She has a social work degree from St. Cloud State University and has been a substitute teacher in the Paynesville Area Schools, where most of her assignments were in the middle school.

Her new job at the Area Center will be a combination of social work and business administration. She will be responsible for day-to-day activities: including event scheduling, creating a newsletter, and coordinating programs. She will also do fund raising and provide information and support to seniors. The Area Center serves lunch, delivers meals to shut-ins, and provides health, fitness, and social programs.

Jones likes the flexible hours at her new job and the opportunity to do something meaningful for her. "This is a way to give something back to the community," she said.

She and her husband, Neil, have a dairy farm south of Lake Koronis. She has four children and likes to fish and read.
