Intern reporter starts work at Press

By Bonnie Jo Hanson

Kayla WelleKayla Welle recently started work at the Paynesville Press as an intern reporter.

At the Press, Welle will report, write news articles and feature stories, and take photographs. Welle, a senior at PAHS, has experience in journalism and a special interest in photography. She was a student editor of the PAHS newspaper, The Bark, last fall. She is looking forward to learning more during her summer at the Press.

Welle, who is also taking post-secondary courses at Ridgewater College this semester, plans to attend Minnesota State University-Mankato next fall and hopes to become a chiropractor or a lawyer. She believes the skills she is learning at the Press, especially working with other people, will help her in the future no matter which career path she chooses.

Welle lives near Paynesville with her parents, Dale and Rose. When she isn't working or studying, she enjoys scrapbooking, fishing, and watching wrestling.
