The Paynesville Area Community Service Center and the Paynesville Fire Department received $500 apiece. The After-Prom Party at PAHS received $200.

These local grants were part of $28,300 recently awarded to 77 organizations by the trust board.

Money for the program is collected from Stearns Electric members who allow their monthly bills to be rounded up to the next highest dollar. Nearly 70 percent of the co-opšs members participate in the program, with the average donation being $4.77 in 2004.

Since 1983, over $737,000 has been donated to charitable organizations and community projects.
