Retired farmer honored by U of M fraternity

Lloyd Peterson Lloyd Peterson of Paynesville was one of five members of Alpha Gamma Rho who were honored at the fraternity's 83rd Founder's Day celebration on Saturday, April 29, for serving on the University of Minnesota's Board of Regents. Alpha Gamma Rho is a prominent agriculture fraternity based at the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota.

Peterson graduated from the U of M in 1942 and is a retired turkey farmer in the Paynesville area. He served on the U of M Board of Regents from 1975 until 1981 and served on the U of M Foundation for 15 years.

The Founder's Club celebration featured a video presentation for each of the five honorees, an address by university president Mark Yudof, and performances by the university marching band. Peterson attended the celebration with his wife, Ardyce, and their three children.
