Ironman competition held at the fitness center

Car push Nine competitors, in grades eight to 12, participated in the 2002 Ironman competition at the school's fitness center on Saturday, with senior Jonnie Schefers winning.

Schefers, pictured at left, pushed the truck 60 feet and Ryan Glenz, below right, won the hang cleans by lifting 70 pounds 71 times.

Competitors completed 11 events, including squat pressing 270 pounds for as many repetitions as possible, bench pressing 95 pounds for as many reps as possible, holding 10 pound weights in the Iron Cross position for as long as possible, and pushing a truck 60 feet across the school parking lot as fast as possible.

A first-place finish got ten points, second got nine, third got eight, etc.
