Opening ceremonies are set for 3:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. This will be the second year for Paynesville to host the Special Olympics.
Many area Special Olympic athletes will be competing in various events. Athletes competing in running events, wheelchair events, relays and field events, including shot put softball throw or standing and running long jump. The athletes will be broken down into groups by age level and skill level for the competition.
