Detour to start south of Richmond on Highway 22

Beginning Monday, May 8, a detour will go into effect on Highway 22 between Richmond and Eden Valley as the Minnesota Department of Transportation begins construction on the road.

MnDOT plans to rebuild the bridge located about a mile south of Richmond and to realign the intersection between Highway 22 and Co. Rd. 9. The project entails $1.4 million in improvements.

For the duration of the project, motorists will be detoured using Highway 23 and Co. Rd. 43, which should add about a mile to the trip. Motorists, according to MnDOT, should watch for detour signs, expect delays, and plan ahead.
