April Students of the Month announced

April Students of the Month Five students were honored as the April Students of the Month at the Paynesville Area Middle School.

The students are selected by the teachers based on their grades, class participation, and attitude about school.

Students being honored are: sixth grade,front,Ashley Lieser and Mitch Mueller; seventh grade,back middle,Sarah Schmidt; and eighth grade,back right and left respectively,Ashley Hoglund and Kyle Savelkoul. Only one seventh grader was selected to be honored.

Ashley is the daughter of Willie and Deanna Lieser. According to her teachers, Ashley is a hard working student. She is friendly, thoughtful, considerate of others, and responsible.

Ashley is a member of the student council, sixth grade band, choir, book club, and basketball. Her interests include playing basketball, talking on the telephone, and spending time with friends.

Ashley was surprised and happy to win the award. "I worked hard and handed in my assignments," she said.

Mitch Mueller is the son of Andy and Kelly Mueller. According to his teachers, Mitch is a responsible student, friendly, thoughtful, and hard working.

Mitch is a member of the student council, sixth grade band, and book club. He also enjoys wrestling. His interests include card collecting, hunting, and fishing.

Mitch was honored to win the award. "I stay on task and work hard," he said.

Sarah Schmidt is the daughter of Allen and Lori Schmidt. According to her teachers, she is a dedicated student, responsible, friendly, and considerate of others.

Sarah is a member of the seventh and eighth grade choir. Her interests include playing volleyball and spending time with her friends.

Sarah was surprised to win the award. "I received the award because of my good grades," she said.

Ashley Hoglund is the daughter of Bonnie and James Hoglund. According to her teachers, Ashley is a hard working student, polite, considerate, and friendly.

She is a member of the seventh and eighth grade choir. Her interests include swimming, rollerblading, and walking.

"I was honored to win this award," she said. "I feel I won the award because I am a good student and work hard."

Kyle Savelkoul is the son of Gene and Patty Savelkoul. According to his teachers, Kyle is polite, shows great effort, and is working much harder.

Kyle is a member of the eighth grade football and basketball teams. His interests include biking, dirt biking, and listening to music.

Kyle said he was speechless about winning this award. "My grades are improving, and I have been helpful to others," he added.
