Traffic detours for Lake Avenue
Detour signs (left) were erected last week in preparation for the reconstruction of Lake Avenue (Highway 124) in Paynesville. Actual construction started this week and should last much of the summer.The main detour route (middle) uses Highways 23 and 55 and brings thru traffic all the way to the west end of town. Signs also will direct traffic to the Paynesville Area Health Care System (PAHCS) along Maple Street, Minnesota Street, and Stearns Avenue from the south or just using Stearns Avenue from the north.
For residents who use Co. Rd. 34, two alternate routes to get to town are to take 283rd Avenue or 160th Street to Highway 55 (bottom).
