March Students of the Month named

farmer The teachers at the Paynesville Area Middle School looked over their classrooms, scanning for the March Students of the Month.

Selected for the honor were: sixth grade, Jason Wendroth and Roberta Anderson; seventh grade, Erin Moser and Peter Schreifels; and eighth grade, Tasha Hilliard and Adam Christian.

Roberta Anderson is the daughter of Robert Anderson and Virginia Beck, Paynesville. Her teachers state she is a hardworking student, conscientious, and helpful. She recently won the local spelling bee.

Roberta lists as her interests reading, playing sports, drawing, and hanging out with friends.

When asked about her feelings towards being chosen student of the month, Roberta replied, "Excited."

Jason Wendroth is the son of Roberta and Mark Wendroth, rural Paynesville. His teachers state he pays attention in class, is conscientious, and does his work. Jason lists as his interests playing football, hockey, baseball, and Nintendo 64. He is a member of the sixth grade choir and band.

When asked about his feelings towards being chosen student of the month, Jason replied, "I am glad I got it, I am very proud of myself!"

Erin Moser is the daughter of Jim and Michele Moser, Paynesville. Her teachers state she is polite, well-mannered, helpful, and applies effort to her class work.

Erin lists as her interests rollerblading, playing volleyball, softball, and piano. She is a member of the seventh grade volleyball and softball teams, and sings in the choir.

Peter Schreifels is the son of Sandy Spanier, rural Paynesville and Bryon Schreifels. His teachers state he is polite, well-mannered and applies effort to his class work.

Peter lists as his interests riding horse, playing Nintendo, and being in 4-H. He is a member of the middle school speech team.

Tasha Hilliard is the foster child of Allen and Sharon Ihrke, Rice Lake. Her teachers state she is a great listener, always gives a great deal of effort to whatever she does, and enjoys coming to school.

Tasha lists as her interests reading, swimming, and playing basketball. She is a member of the eighth grade volleyball team, choir, and will be a cheerleader next year.

When asked about her feelings towards her education and being chosen student of the month, Tasha replied, "I think it is really important, because if you want to get anywhere in life, you need to have a good education. I am really honored to be chosen as student of the month, because it shows that I have been working hard to get somewhere in life."

Adam Christian is the son of Pat and Vonda Christian, Hawick. His teachers state Adam is a very good thinker, he looks beyond to higher level issues and gets his work done on time.

Adam lists as his interests wrestling and playing Nintendo 64. He is a member of the eighth grade wrestling team.

When asked about his feelings towards being chosen student of the month, Adam replied, "It is good, I like it."
