Students of the Month selected at PAMS

By Michael Jacobson

Sixth grader Kenzie Meagher, seventh grader Brice Hartmann, and eighth grader Katrina Daby were chosen as Students of the Month for March at Paynesville Area Middle School.

Each month, teachers recognize three students in the middle school - one per grade - for their attention and work in school and their cooperation and relations with other students and the school staff.

Daby said it was cool to be chosen from so many students for the award, Hartmann said he was surprised and grateful to receive the award, and Meagher said it was a good feeling to get the award.

Students of the Month Meagher, the daughter of Lorie and Pat Meagher, plays basketball and softball, plays in the band, and sings in the choir. At home, she likes to read, play sports, play outside, and hang out with friends.

Eighth grader Katrina Daby, sixth grader Kenzie Meagher, and seventh grader Brice Hartmann were chosen as the Students of the Month for March at Paynesville Area Middle School.

She thinks she got the award because of her good attitude.

Her teachers state that Kenzie is studious, conscientious, respectful, hardworking, respected by her peers, and is a leader.

Hartmann, the son of Larry and Rhonda Hartmann, plays football at school and likes to hunt as a hobby.

He thinks he won the award because he tries his best at school and has a positive attitude.

His teachers say that Brice has improved his effort greatly throughout the year, works hard, exhibits a good attitude, and contributes to class.

Daby, the daughter of Kris and Ralph Daby, participates in speech and plays golf at school. Away from school, she likes to scrapbook, waterski, and shop.

She thinks she won the award because she likes school and does well at it.

Her teachers state that Katrina is considerate, hardworking, responsible, friendly, and a good student.

This year, sixth grader Jordan Severance, seventh grader Heather Rondeau, and eighth grader Colby Peterson were chosen as Students of the Month in October; sixth grader Kayla Lieser, seventh grader Jamison Wall, and eighth grader Natalie Leadem in November; sixth grader Riley Kampsen, seventh grader Callie Bennett, and eighth grader Keegan Meagher in December; sixth grader Taylor Haag, seventh grader John Buermann, and eighth grader Curt Nietfeld in January; and sixth grader Matthew Everson, seventh grader Jackie Berg, and eighth grader Jacob Mackedanz in February.
