Boy and girl staters are named

The American Legion Boys and Girls State delegates were selected last week. Representing Paynesville are Tom Robertson and Sene Binsfeld. Alternates are Mary Frieler and Craig Keller. The Lake Henry American Legion delegate is Tim Lieser.

Legion Boys State will be held June 8 to 14 on the campus of St. Olaf College, Northfield. Girls State is slated for Bethel College, St. Paul, the same week.

Legion Boys and Girls State is a practical learning experience in local and state government. Its citizens will apply knowledge already gained through their school experience and additional knowledge provided through instruction by competent individuals from selected governmental areas to organize and operate their own city, county and state governments.

Lieser is the son of Gary and Corrine Lieser, rural Belgrade. He is active in football and student council.

Binsfeld is the daughter of Harold and Janice Binsfeld, Paynesville. She is active in Girl Scouts, her church, yearbook staff and band.

Frieler is the daughter of Steve and Jane Frieler, rural Paynesville. She is active in band, peer helpers and teaches religion.

Robertson is the son of Pete and Sue Dingman, rural Richmond. He is active in FLA and FFA.

Keller is the son of Kenneth and Louisa Keller, rural Paynesville. He is active in DECA.
