Utsch selected as Stearns County Dairy Princess

Wendy Utsch, Paynesville, was among those chosen to serve as ambassadors as the Stearns County Dairy Princess.

During the pageant March 6, eight girls were selected to serve as ambassadors for the county. They will compete at the region level in June.

Utsch, 18, a senior at Paynesville Area High School, is the daughter of Ken and Shirley Utsch, Paynesville.

Her parents farm 210 acres and have a herd of 65 Holstein dairy cattle. Utsch is a member of DECA, works with the prom committee, peer helpers, peer tutors, youth ministry at church, is a church lector, and CCD teacher. She also represented Paynesville as a Girls Stater.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, has received the Lions Service Award, and has been named to Who's Who Among American High School Students.

After graduation she plans on attending Rasmussen College, St. Cloud, and get a degree in accounting and business management.

Other girls receiving the title, Stearns County Dairy Princess, are: Linda Nathe and Angie Tegels, Sauk Centre, Sonya Gondringer and Denise Koopmeiners, Albany, Melinda Schumer, St. Stephen, Judy Holdvogt, Freeport, and Becky Kuechle, Watkins.

Tegels was also named Miss Congeniality.
