A wide range of entertainment was enjoyed by those attending an "Evening of Entertainment," a fund raiser for the Paynesville Community Center at Northern Lights Sunday night. A total of $865 was raised for the local food shelf.

Emcees for the evening were Dr. Bob Gardner and Leanne Tangen. Local talent was featured throughout the evening.

The Paynesville Lutheran Church Band kicked off the evening and ended the evening with several numbers. Members of the band are Pastor Rick Hoyme on guitar, Ken Vork, Cheryl Bungum, Terry Skoglund, Cheryl Colbert, Paula Geier on piano, Mike Noonon on guitar, and Boyd Hengel on drums.

Besides serving as co-emcee, Gardner also entertained the audience by singing several country numbers, telling jokes, and doing animal imitations.

The String O' Pearls performed a variety of music from the 60s and 70s. Members of the group are: Clarice Stumo, Karen Theel, Kathee Martinson, Sharon Schmidt, Kim McKigney, Jan Madsen, Carolyn Swyter, Linda Liestman, and Cindy Zimmerman.

Among the soloists performing were: Roy Colbert, Robin Spaeth, Mike Noonan, Terry Nelson, and Jean Nichols.

Several musical numbers got the audience involved by either singing along with the chorus or dancing.

The evening was hosted by the Paynesville UPS employees.
