AMPI sets cheese production record

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) set a record for cheese production in 2003. The midwest dairy cooperative also produced more "640" blocks of cheese than anyone in the industry, the cooperative announced recently.

AMPI is a cooperative with 4,300 member farms in six states, including Minnesota. Members produce over five billion pounds of milk annually. The cooperative operates 14 manufacturing plants, including a cheese plant in Paynesville.

Members will hold their annual meeting on March 22-23 at the Sheraton Hotel in Bloomington, Minn.
