Townships will hold annual meeting and elections on Tuesday

This article submitted by Linda Stelling on 3/3/98.

On Tuesday, March 10, township residents all across the state will be heading to the polls to elect township clerks and supervisors. They will also be holding their annual meetings and setting their budgets for the upcoming year.

Very few newcomers filed for office in the Paynesville area. In Lake Henry Township nobody filed for the supervisor position, so the top vote getter will earn the job.

Residents in area townships will elect a clerk for a two-year term and a supervisor for three years.
Township boards are comprised of three supervisors who each serve three-year terms. Clerks and treasurers are elected every two years.

For more information about candidates, meeting places and times, see the March 4th edition of the Paynesville Press.
